Barack Obama's campaign did not like it when rival John McCain referred to the Illinois senator as "that one" during tonight's presidential debate.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton sent a one-line message to reporters after McCain made the comment that said, "Did John McCain just refer to Obama as 'that one'?" And again at the conclusion of the debate, the Obama campaign emailed reporters, "Did John McCain refer to Obama as 'that one'?" (The clip is here on YouTube.)
Incredibly disrespectful, but no surprise.
Isn't #1 the President of the United States of America. Heh,heh.
Hope Barak Obama gets to be President, Commander in Chief, then my boys and girls and myself can come home from the Corporate Wars for Natural Resources (Oil, Northern and Southern Oil Fields, Iraq) and darfour.
They are my boys and girls until I can fullfill my (self imposed) primary mission of bringing them back to you alive. My boys and girls are your husbands, wifes, brothers, sisters, cousins, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters, the one's that are sacrificing themselves for what? So you can drive a car? You all voted indirectly for this.
I am tired of going to peoples homes after deployment and trying to tell them that they died for their country. I know that I am not required to do this. When you know them as friends, as, well, your own, sons and daughters. You owe it more to them than their families...I am so glad that they might let me retire, I care too much for my people, I owe them my life. Thank you. Do not recall me again.
Very disrespectful! McCain looks so old !!
I was away from the vine for a few days, and it seems that the overall tone has shifted dramatically. It's darker, nastier, more agressive and offensive. This has been a safe haven for intelligent and relatively respectful discussion.
The attack dogs are barking.
It's unfortunate that the political environment overall has gotten to this, and I can only see it getting uglier in the next 4 weeks. It makes me sad because it adds to the mess the next President will have to clean up, no matter who that may be. It separates us, divides us, polarizes us, at a time when we need to be united and working together.
As my mother said tonight: "God help us!"
I watched the debate. Apparently Senator McCain referred to Senator Obama as that one. It is incredulous that Senator McCain would do that. It really speaks to Senator McCain being what he really is a Wahnington D.C. elitist.
THAT IS WHAT BOB MARLEY WOULD CALL A DEAD MAN'S CHANT.
MCCAIN IS CHANTING BECAUSE HE HAS LOST.
Boy that's an intelligent thought out reply. Good job!
McCain is known to have anger management problems. He diverged his whole campaign towards nasty ads recently...and it shows:
1. "That one" was totally inappropriate
2. He rejected Obama's handshake at the hand... ??? How is he gonna solve national issues like that
I clearly agree with Henry here, he knows he lost. He doesnt have any clear plans to propose and is desperate. As for being considered a War Hero... read what rollingstones said about that "Hero"
To reply to CryBaby's comment,
it just shows that he is one of those racist people. All of your arguments can be taken against Palin, who is at least twice as worst as Obama's. Her Alaska Independance Party, her pastor being a former "domestic terrorist" hunting witches. Watch this:
and stay quiet.
The polls showed that if Obama was white, he would get 6 to 10 points more than now, which is very sad to know.
McCain's "That One" was very disrespectful. I don't want a President to talk down to anyone. His lack of eye contact during the debates was also disturbing. Gee how would he negotiate with global leaders?
